A Funeral in Mexico

This was the death of a friends grandmother who was 96 years old. I never met the lady but half the town of Tepetzingo were there to show their respects. As the mourners marched the casket through the small town people were mostly solemn, a few wept, while the pallbearers took turns caring the casket.

The photo above was taken the night before the funeral. This vigil service lasted all day and into the late night. Friends and family sat mostly silently as bread and drink were served.
